African Female Entrepreneurs Converge on Central London For the UK’s 1st African Women in Business Conference
The Association for African Owned Enterprises (AAOE UK) will be holding the UK’s 1st ever African Women in Business Conference in Central London later this month. With the endorsement of Theresa May, Home Secretary & Minister for Women & Equalities, the conference will address a number of issues affecting African Women in the Diaspora today. From Opportunities and Equalities in UK Enterprise to the significance of African women in leadership positions to inspire girls and other women in Africa.
With a large number of the 5.5 million Africans in the UK* being women, this once muted group is now a force to be reckoned with. The historical event will bring together, inform, acknowledge and celebrate African female entrepreneurs in the UK.

Others involved in the Conference include Betty Makoni, Activist and Founder of the Girl Child Network which supports and promotes the rights of girls in areas of economic deprivation and instability; Margaret Sentamu, President of Mildmay International a pioneering HIV Charity and Mavis Amankwah of diversity communications agency Rich Visions.
