Liberty Medical Scheme partners with Premier Health, Wellness and Lifestyle Consumer Exhibition
In line with its drive to assist and encourage members to adopt a balanced, healthy lifestyle in order to live life to the full, Liberty Medical Scheme will be a partner of this year’s Look & Feel Good Expo (L&FGE) – South Africa’s leading health, wellness and lifestyle consumer exhibition, to be held in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg in October and November 2013.
An EXSA (Exhibition & Event Association of SA) Awards nominated exhibition, the L&FGE enters its fifth consecutive year in Johannesburg (8 – 10 November, Coca-Cola dome), third year in Cape Town (25 – 27 October, Sandringham Farm) and first time ever in Durban (11 – 13 October, Durban Exhibition Centre).
“Liberty Medical Scheme is well aware of the importance of a leading a healthy lifestyle to ensure a happy, fulfilled and more productive life. We therefore guide our members towards making the most of their cover when they are unwell, as well as actively assist them, through various member care programmes, educational initiatives and health-enhancing events like the Look & Feel Good Expo, thus equipping them to maintain a healthier, more vital and sustainable lifestyle,” says Liberty Medical Scheme Executive Principal Officer, Andrew Edwards.
Edwards adds: “Contrary to popular belief that medical schemes are there mainly for the sick and elderly, the truth is that they play a key role in assisting younger people to maintain and manage their health, thereby potentially extending their lives for as long as possible.
“Indeed, medical schemes are there for members when they really need them for large and unexpected medical events, but in today’s demanding and fast-paced world when good health and wellbeing is vitally important to keep up the pace, they also play a key role in keeping members on the move, in every respect.
“This is precisely why Liberty Medical Scheme’s options are designed to encourage healthy living by offering a variety of preventative care benefits, such as diagnostic tests and screenings. Moreover, a number of these preventative care benefits are paid from members’ major medical benefits rather than from their medical savings account, which means their savings last longer,” says Edwards.
Built on the guiding pillars of health of body and mind, food and nutrition, beauty and fashion, greening, happiness and fitness and vitality, the L&FGE philosophy likewise provides visitors with lifestyle-enhancing solutions to help keep them healthy, happy and emotionally in control of their time-pressed world.
“The 2012 expo was well attended and it boasted a great vibe and energy, something after my own heart,” says Liberty Medical Scheme brand ambassador and wellness expert, Lisa Raleigh, who was member of the L&FGE Expert Panel in 2012 and is the official brand ambassador for the expo this year.
According to the organisers, more than 500 exhibitors will take part in this year’s event, offering visitors a jam-packed programme of events and attractions for all types and levels of experience. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover, try out and purchase the latest in health, beauty, fitness and wellbeing brands, products and services.
Concludes Edwards: “Our partnership with this premier health and wellness event, once again proves that Liberty Medical Scheme is wholly dedicated to its promise to care for our members, in sickness and in health. We take all their needs to heart, focus on providing them with the best possible service and information and constantly keep them updated.”
