Nigeria: Discount Card Firm Partners with Oyo Mega Trade Fair
As part of measures towards a hitch-free event this year, the Oyo Mega Trade Fair 2013 has entered into partnership with GMN Discount Card, a company that specialises in digital trade promotion and marketing.
Announcing this in Ibadan during the weekend, the president of Oyo Mega Trade Fair, Mr. Delight Owoyemi, said the involvement of GMN in the trade fair would impact positively on the overall success of the 10-day event which kicks off on August 9.
He told the Central Working Committee of the Oyo Mega Trade Fair 2013 that no stone would be left unturned in ensuring a successful outing this year, adding that the success story of GMN as an international digital expert was considered in picking the company for the event.
According to Mr. Owoyemi, the company is a well-known name in discount teams marketing and carding solution, adding that in the next couple of weeks, the Oyo Mega Trade Fair, in conjunction with GMN Discount Card and others key stakeholders, would be conducting targeted, interactive stakeholder forums to enlighten the public on the forthcoming trade fair.
Also speaking during the forum, the Chief Executive Officer of GMN Discount Cards, Mr. Samuel Omowaiye, said this year’s trade fair would not be the usual trade exhibition. “We are in for 21st century digital trade promotion of both local and global interest,” he said.
Mr. Omowaiye added: “Technology has taken us far in the business of trade promotion beyond what it used to be. If you look at the lifestyle these days, you discover that there is a major shift in the way people order for goods from the retails outlets. You see a lot of e-commerce businesses coming up in the country.”
He said that convenience and security considerations have compelled people to embrace e-commerce, explaining that before long, people would not need to carry cash to the market again.
The Oyo Mega Trade Fair will bring together an array of indigenous manufacturers, government agencies and companies to showcase their products, generate leads, increase visibility and interact with customers and buyers. Already, more than 80 per cent of exhibitors at last year’s trade fair have indicated their desire to return this year.
Oyo Mega Trade Fair 2013, which will take place at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, has the theme, “Manufacturing Opportunities in Sustaining the Nigerian Economy for Investment Evolution,” will attract well over 1000 foreign and local exhibitors.
