Nigeria: ‘Aftermath of Exposure’, Sarner PFM changes office address
By Jaja King, Abuja, Nigeria – Following expose’ on Sarner PFM Africa fraudulent activities over construction of $250m leisure park in Delta State, Nigeria, the company has changed its African office address on its website from Abuja to Oleri, Udu Local Council Area, delta state.
Sarner had earlier indicated on its website (www.sarner.com) that its African head office was domiciled at 12 Oturkpo Street, Off Onitsha Street, Gimbyia Street, Area 11 District, Abuja but when this reporter visited the office, it was discovered to be a living home.
The expose’ is believed to have forced Sarner to change its address to its construction site located at 1 Delta Leisure Resort Way Oleri Udu Local Council Area, Warri,Delta State, Nigeria
Delta State Government had claimed in December 2010 that it entered into partnership with Sarner UK to fund the building of a $250m leisure park in Oleri and another wild life park in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local government area of the state.
However, investigations by this reporter discovered that Sarner PFM is not registered with Corporate Affairs Commission(CAC) which contradicts the Companies and Allied matters Act of 1990 that stipulates that no foreign company can do business in Nigeria without being locally incorporated.
Further investigation also disclosed that Sarner UK is a small company that does not have the financial capacity to fund a project of $250m.
Hence, the change in address from Abuja to Oleri only confirms the earlier investigations that the much touted project is at best a scheme to defraud Deltans.
