Offshore West Africa Advisory Board meet to discuss Conference topics

24-26 January 2012 – International Conference Centre, Abuja, Nigeria

The Offshore West Africa Advisory Board have announced a good response to their Call for Abstracts for the 2012 Conference, which will see the event return to Abuja, Nigeria between 24 ¡V 26 January 2012.

With a Call for Abstracts deadline of 27th May 2011, the Preliminary Conference Program is taking shape, with abstracts still currently being received. At the recent Advisory Board meeting in Houston, USA, it was agreed that the structure of the conference program will follow a similar schedule to that used at Offshore West Africa 2011, with conference sessions to comprise of the below topics:

Subsea Technology                                         Flowlines & Pipelines

Well Construction/Drilling Operations           Floating Production Facilities

Field Development                                         Project Finance

Lessons Learned                                             Safety and Sustainable Development

The Advisory Board also announced the addition of a new member, Mr. Rajan Batra of Chevron International Exploration & Production, and that the Offshore West Africa Advisory Board will once again meet on 14th June 2011 in Abuja, Nigeria to finalize the Preliminary Conference Program, which will then be followed by a Press Conference and Reception.

After a successful 2011 event in Accra, Ghana, attracting over 1,100 attendees from 37 countries around the world, including many major operators, with over 20% of attendees coming from outside of the West African region, the premier technical forum for the West African offshore oil and gas exploration and production industry will return to Nigeria in 2012 for the 16th annual edition.

Supported by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), the 16th annual Offshore West Africa will once again address key technology and development issues for the West African offshore oil and gas market, through a comprehensive educational program and three-day exhibition, under the conference theme – Deepwater Technologies for West Africa.

Offshore West Africa Call for Abstracts

The Offshore West Africa Advisory Board will soon close the 2012 Call for Abstracts. The deadline to submit your abstract for Offshore West Africa 2012 is 27 May 2011th.

Offshore West Africa has released the Technical Focus Areas that any abstract should be based upon. These technical focus areas are listed at www.offshorewestafrica.com. To have your presentation considered for the technical session program, please submit you 100-400 word abstract on one or more of the technical focus areas listed.
