The German Embassy in Lilongwe, Malawi has committed 25,400 Euro for a cultural heritage project aimed at preserving the African nation’s music and oral traditions. The project is entitled “Endangered Traditions – Endangered Creativity” and funding for it was provided through the German Foreign Office in Berlin under its Cultural Preservation Programme. Allan Ssempebwa Kyobe – Four Ugandans were on Thursday paraded by Uganda’s Intelligence agency, the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) and confessed to the bombings that rocked Kampala last month. They included Mr.Isa Ahmed Luyima, Hassan Luyima, Edris Nsubuga and Mohammed Mugisha. Binaisa was Uganda’s president under an ‘umbrella’ (transitional) government of the Uganda National Liberation government (UNLF) after ousting General Idi Amin Dada. He ruled for 11 months from 29th June 1979 to 13TH May 1980.He died in his sleep at his home in Makindye, a suburb of the country’s capital, Kampala. KIGALI – Rwandan President Paul Kagame celebrated an overwhelming election victory by dancing with thousands of supporters early Tuesday, after opposition parties were banned from the vote and some Rwandans said they were forced to cast ballots for him.
