Shout-Africa News – ACCRA – Police in Ghana have impounded a Chinese ship and arrested three crew members after three Ivorians are alleged to have been thrown overboard. One of the stowaways is believed to have drowned; the other two survived. Djiba Kamara, 18, was rescued by a navy patrol on Sunday after he said he had been treading water for seven hours. Stowaways are protected under the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights and are the responsibility of a ship’s crew if found. Shout-Africa News – NAIROBI – Police in Kenya have arrested an assistant minister and two MPs for hate speech in the campaign for a new constitution, after violence on Sunday. Assistant Roads Minister Wilfred Machage was among six MPs accused of hate speech on Monday. All six deny the charges. Six people died on Sunday after a grenade attack at a prayer meeting in the capital, Nairobi, organised by the “No” campaign. Brooksby Melton College said they were Eleanor Payne, 19, from Hinckley, Leicestershire; Samantha Lake, 19, and Daniel Greenwood, 22, both of whom were from Syston, in Leicestershire. The British High Commission said four others remained seriously ill. Their bus overturned near Nelspruit in the north-eastern Mpumalanga province, leaving more than a dozen injured.
