A diverse crowd of Women and girls from New York City’s five boroughs packed the City Council Chambers beyond capacity on Monday for the Second Annual Women’s Herstory Month Celebration. The Council acknowledged Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito for making history as the first Puerto Rican and Latina to hold the position and Public Advocate Letitia James for being the first Black and woman of color elected to a citywide office.
It is now becoming a common phenomenon to hear of a fatal road accident in every month in Tanzania. While not tolerating reckless drivers, the police boss calls for the government to deal effectively with loopholes of accidents which at times are reported but they go unreported until when they cause accidents.

The U.S. President in a statement praised Nigeria’s commitment to democracy. He said “I urge President-elect Buhari and President Jonathan to repeat their calls to their supporters to continue to respect the election outcomes, focus on unifying the country, and together lead Nigeria through a peaceful transition.”
