IGBO SUPERIORITY FEELING IS A DANGER TO HER NEIGHBOURS Click here for Part 1 By Ozodi Thomas Osuji – It is apparent to any one with eyes to see that many Igbos would like to believe that they are superior to their Nigerian neighbours. They assume that they are superior to their neighbours. This belief in their superiority is strange considering that virtually all their neighbours were politically more advanced than them before the white man came to their world; their neighbours attained feudal social-political organizations: they had kings governing their entire ethnic group whereas Igbos were at the rudimentary... Over the past six months a measles epidemic has been sweeping through the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is raising the alarm and calling for concerted action to halt the spread of the disease. “The measles epidemic is spiralling out of control,” says Gaël Hankenne, MSF Head of Mission in the DRC. “Since September 2010 we have vaccinated more than 1.5 million children in response to the crisis. In 1870, Bismarck and his Prussia finally unified Germany and in 1884... Continue Reading

A DIFFERENT LOOK AT NATURAL DISASTERS LIKE THE TSUNAMI IN JAPAN Click here for part 3 – By Ozodi Thomas Osuji – Twentieth century America produced two excellent books on spirituality, Alcohol Anonymous’ Big Book and Helen Schuman’s A course in miracles. If you have not read both books please do.  Schuman’s book is arguably the best book ever written by a poet on the nature of God and the world. Its one flaw is that the writer made it seem that the son of God is apart from God hence created this world and is responsible for this world... Continue Reading

A GNOSTIC STORY OF CREATION Click here for part 2 – By Ozodi Thomas Osuji – In the first part of this paper I presented science’s current story of creation; now let me present a Gnostic story of creation. Both stories are exactly that, stories, not true. Both are useful. We live in the scientific age and must study science and its various working hypotheses; we are also religious creatures and must have religious myths of creation that enable us adjust to the bewildering things of this world. In the beginning (there was no beginning) there is God. God is... Continue Reading
