An interactive dialogue aimed at finding solution to address nutrition and stunting in Liberia has taken place at the Capitol Building in Monrovia. The dialogue was held under the auspices of the WASH Legislative Caucus at the National Legislature.
Speaking at the start of the dialogue, the Chairman of the WASH Legislative Caucus, Grand Bassa County Senator, Jonathan Kaipay emphasized the need for coordination to help find an amicable solution to the issues of nutrition and stunting in Liberia.
The Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Civil Society Organizations Network of Liberia has ended a 3-Day General Assembly in Gbarnga City, Bong County, with the election of a new leadership. The exercise held from December 12-14, 2019 was held under the theme; “We are Better Together”.
Those elected were Augustine N. Myers of the WASH R&E “Media” Network as National Chairman, Lusu B. Gibson of Shalom as Co-Chair, and George Karyah of LIFE-NGO as Secretary General.
The outgoing Chairperson of the National Civil Society Council of Liberia, Frances Greaves, later officially inducted the new WASH CSOs Network officers.
The Liberian government and the Millennium Challenge Account over the weekend broke grounds for the construction of an 18 Million United States dollars Raw Water Pipeline in White Plains, outside Monrovia. It will be constructed between the Mt. Cofee Hydro Plant and the White Plains Water Treatment Plant.
The pipeline will ensure the delivery safe drinking water supply to nearly million residents of Monrovia and environs.
The West Africa WASH Journalists Network has ended its Annual General Assembly Meeting with the elections of a new corps of Officers to steer the affairs of the Network for 3 years.
The West Africa WASH Journalists Network comprises countries of West Africa, and added Cameroon as one of its members.
The elections were held in Accra, Ghana as part of a 4-Day WASH Human Rights Advocacy Training and the WASH JN General Assembly Meeting.
