By Shout-Africa.com from Accra-Ghana – Former Liberian presidential candidate and international football star, George Weah, has appealed to the Ghanaian government to respect the rights of Liberian refugees at the Buduburam camp located in the Central region. One refugee was killed recently in clashes between the refugees and police at the camp. The rumpus was sparked by bickering between two factions of the refugees over Welfare Council leadership. Amidst fierce fighting in and around Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, dozens of severely wounded people are being treated by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) medical teams. A joint Transitional Federal Government-African Union Peacekeeping Force (AMISOM) launched an offensive on 20th February against armed opposition in parts of south-central Somalia. MSF teams working at the main hospital in Daynile, a town on the outskirts of Mogadishu, treated more than 170 people as of 27th February, many suffering from severe war-related injuries. The changes, due to take effect from 1st March 2011, will include new fees payment and appointment procedures for applicants for US visas.
