Tanzanian President Magufuli address statesman at the 6th African Leadership Forum

President of the United Republic of Tanzania and SADC Chairman, Dkt. John Pombe Magufuli has reminded African Statesmen why the Continent remains poor amidst vast richness of natural resources. He cited lack of innovation, industrial technology and misinterpretation of developmental foundations to be two main causatives of resources mismanagement leading to poverty in the African continent.

Liberia: WASH Media & CSOs training successfully conducted in South East

An Intensive Training to ensure increased WASH Media and CSO professionals’ attention for more awareness and advocacy on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) issues, has successfully taken place in the South Eastern Region of Liberia. The 3-Day WASH Training was designed to strengthen the capacity of Media and civil society actors and create bigger platforms to articulate community voices to access better water and sanitation facilities. The Training held in Fish Town City, River Gee County was held in partnership with the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Reporters and Editors Network of Liberia (WASH R&E), Liberia Media Empowerment & Foundation (LIMEAF Inc) and the Foundation for Empowerment of Rural Dwellers (FERD), with support from WaterAid Liberia.

The East African newspaper published an article titled thus “In This Judicial System; One is Condemned not only in Innocence but also in Ignorance.” The article published in August 10thon the East African newspaper written by one Jenerali Ulimwengu, claiming to be a veteran journalist and one of media owners in Tanzania, is a clear manifestation of how the author himself is part of the problem he narrates.

In a move which is likely to validate that there are emerging divisions in the ruling party, Zanu PF Harare East members are accusing one member of persuading them to join the main opposition MDC. The accused Francis Zimunya who joined Zanu PF a few years ago after dumping the Simba Makoni-led Mavambo Kusile Dawn (MKD) party has court the ire of some ruling supporters for ‘hoodwinking’ them to join the Nelson Chamisa-led MDC opposition.

Tanzania: Ramaphosa, Magufuli vow to boost bilateral ties

President John Magufuli of Tanzania and his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa have jointly agreed to increase cooperation in trade and investments among the two countries. Addressing the nation at the Dar es Salaam State House during Mr. Ramaphosa’s 3 days State Visit ahead of the SADC meetings, President Magufuli also called on President Ramaphosa to collaborate with Tanzania in boosting the East African country’s tourism sector.
