Liberia Celebrates Global Handwashing Day

Liberia on Monday of this week joined other countries of the world to commemorate Global Handwashing Day with official celebration taking place in Monserrado and Gbapolu Counties. In Montserrado County, the celebration of the day started with a parade from the Duport Road Clinic in the City of Paynesville to the Paynesville City Hall for an indoor program.

Nigeria’s Government secures 55,000 hectares in eleven States for grazing reserves

Federal Government says that it has secured fifty-five (55,000) hectares of land from eleven states for the development of pasture and paddocks grazing reserve in the country. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, gave this indication while briefing journalists on the Federal Government’s achievements in the Agriculture sector in commemoration of this year's World Food Day in Abuja, the nation's Federal Capital Territory.

As a follow-up to a report released by the British Charity, WaterAid on the Environmental, Social and Health Impact on communities due to activities of mining companies in Cape Mount County, the WASH Media Network visited communities that are mentioned in the report. The visit on the part of the WASH Media was also aimed at verifying the report released by the British charity on the situation faced by the locals due to the mining activities in their respective communities.

Only 24% of my journalism class at college is female. Looking at that statistics it’s quite easy for an observer to assume that women in Zimbabwe are not interested in journalism as a career choice. Are the demands of the profession too demanding that only a few women are capable of meeting them? The obvious answer to that question is Zimbabwean women in this field are equally capable as their male counterparts. I see that in my fellow female students, their passion is relentless. The quality of their work is astounding yet there are fewer of them in my class. How can this sad situation be allowed to exist in a country that has signed up to achieving gender equality under the UN’s Sustainable development goals (SDGs)?

Zimbabwe: TopStar move to Eastern Province

Barely three weeks away from analogue switch off deadline, TopStar has managed to integrate better part of Eastern Province, into the global oriented program. Zambia, is changing the Terrestrial TV Broadcasting platform from Analog to Digital, in conformity with the provisions of the Geneva 2006 (GE06) Digital TV Broadcasting plan. This is in line with a plan to transform the old Analogue TV Plan (174-230MHz and 470-862MHz) and encompassing Europe, Arab States and Africa under a campaign dubbed "digital migration."
