Fifty- six year old Christopher Danga- a retired civil servant was sent on an early retirement after the government of national unity ceased to exist four years ago. Now a pensioner, Danga retired to his communal lands in Goromonzi. His paltry pension earnings over the years have however prevented him from harvesting enough to even feed his small family.

Poverty was written all over their faces, flies swarm around them as if to say “don’t worry everything will be fine”, this has led their mothers to seek refuge under the arm of prostitution. Arriving at the place where the vast majority of prostitutes that have crowded Juru Growth Point stay ,we saw a dilapidated shop which was built in times of the colonial regime, but inside it was divided by cardboard boxes into eight small apartments which accommodated eight families.

Liberia: Equity Assurance Identifies With Tubman University

Authorities of Equity Assurance Limited have donated several refrigerators to the Administration of William V.S. Tubman University located in Harper, Maryland County. Marking the presentation over the weekend at the Monrovia Office on the University in Sinkor, the Board Chairman of Equity Assurance Limited Dr. Nathaniel Barnes, said the donation was his entity’s cooperate social responsibility, to develop, improve customer care and relations with important clients.

LIBERIA: WaterAid ends 3-day partners planning meeting

WaterAid Liberia-Sierra Leone has ended a three-day Transboundary Partners Planning Meeting in Monrovia. The Meeting which brought together a total of 52 Participants from both Liberia and Sierra Leone, focused on partners' actvities for 2017/18.

Liberia: ACT-Alliance Delegation Extols LDS, GoL, Others

A delegation of Act-Alliance has described the organization’s activities in Liberia as satisfactory. The delegation said the intervention of its local chapter, the Lutheran Development Services (LDS) was a lifesaving venture. The Group’s Secretary General, John Ndonah speaking recently during their visit to Liberia, also extolled Government for the level of cooperation during the implementation of its programs.
