Members of the House of Representatives of the National Legislature of Liberia have unanimously passed the National Water Supply and Sanitation Commission Act.
The Act sponsored by Montserrado County District#9 Representative Munah E. Pelham-Youngblood and co-sponsored by Montserrado County District#5 Representative, Thomas P. Fallah recently at the Capital during a special Session.
The National Water Supply and Sanitation Commission Act now goes to the Upper House (Senate) for concurrence before taken to the President for approval, and printed into law.
Media practitioners have been urged to call for global peace in the wake of international turbulences and bloodshed which have affected a large population of innocent civilians including women and children.
The call was a strong message to fellow journalists by Mr. Chen Ping Deputy Editor of the Global Times a Chinese local news paper with a wider international readership, when he spoke to a team of visiting African media practitioners at the Renmin University recently.
“Persistent reporting by media practitioners will eventually halt massive wars going on now here and there because of various uncalled for justifications.” He remarked during a discussion.
A local NGO, Community Union for Sustainable Development (CUSD) has donated two small agro processing machines valued over nine thousand United States Dollars to two Farmers' Groups in Nimba County.
The two groups are the Deapeh Rural Women in Sacleapea-Mah Statutory District and the Miaplay Oil Palm in Zoe-Geh Statutory District.
The Deapeh Rural Women Farmers Group was given the small agro cassava processing machine, while palm processing received the small agro oil palm processing machine.
