cullinan derailment By Novell Zwangendaba – Following a derailment on Sunday afternoon of a steam locomotive, owned and operated by a private operator, Friends of Rail, travelling from Pretoria to Cullinan, the Railway Safety Regulator has initiated an investigation into the incident. The train utilises a branch line and normal commuter operations have not been affected. None of the 627 passengers sustained any injuries. Preliminary investigations indicate that sleepers may have been stolen resulting in the derailment. Shout-Africa News – Sydney – Fears grew for the safety of a group of Australian mining executives on Sunday after their plane disappeared en route from Cameroon to the Democratic Republic of Congo, their company said.
