For several years now, residents of Whein Town Community in Paynesville, outside the nation’s capital Monrovia have complained about the unhealthy state their community is in due to the presence of the Whein Town Dump site.

Netflix, the world’s largest online video streaming service, announced this year that they would soon be bringing their services to nearly every country on the globe - including the entire continent of Africa. With Netflix, African citizens will potentially have greater access to movies, television shows, and other forms of video entertainment. However, current energy and telecommunications barriers present a different reality. While the leader in streaming services has technically expanded to the whole of Africa, very few people actually have access to it. In order to succeed here, Netflix will be forced to amend its “one size fits all” approach and tailor its model to win out over local competitors – most notably, Jason Njoku’s iROKO.
The Liberia Civil Society Organizations WASH Network in partnership with the British Charity, WaterAid has launched Civil Society Water Action Month in the Slum Community of Clara Town in Monrovia.
It was launched Thursday, March 10, 1016 under the theme: "End Water Shortage and Governance Challenges Now".
Clara Town is one of several communities in Monrovia with water and sanitation crisis.
WaterAid has reported that one in three schoolgirls around the world do not have access to safe, private toilets at school; increasing the likelihood that girls will drop out at puberty and entrenching the cycle of poverty.
