LIBERIA: WASH Consortium Launches DFID GBP 7.5 Million Project

The DFID Swift Programme “Sustainable WASH in Fragile ConTexts” with support from the United Kingdom Aid (UKaid) through the Department for International Development, targets six rural counties of Liberia with the aim of providing equitable and sustainable access to improved water and sanitation services. One of Sierra Leone’s long-serving educationists, headmaster Alpha Muhammad Othman AMO Alghali, has died in North Carolina, USA. Headmaster Alghali devoted almost half a century to promoting education in Sierra Leone. Mr. Alghali rose through the ranks from a junior teacher to headmaster at two of Freetown’s municipal primary schools, Islamia Municipal and East End Municipal. He later became inspector of schools before his retirement. Anglo-American announced as speaking at PV Project Development Africa 2014

Major international mining firm Anglo-American PLC have been announced as an event speaker at PV Project Development Africa 2014 (9-10th September, Johannesburg). Anglo-American will be speaking at the event about the opportunities for solar PV to have a growing impact in supplying green, secure and cost effective electricity to heavy industry in Africa.
