The issue of poor sanitation in and Monrovia remains a serious problem, especially with millions on United States dollars pumped by the World Bank. The Project approved November 13, 2019, will be ending December 30, 2016. The million dollar question is: "Has the World Bank Sanitation Project achieve?" Huge piles of garbage can be seen across Monrovia with little or no efforts from those charged with the responsibility to ensure the piles of garbage are removed.

Africa stands a better chance of benefiting from China’s industrial overcapacity. This is according to Chinese investors and officials of the Investments National Reform Commission. According to Mr. Jianjun Wang, the Director Department of Foreign Capital and Overseas Investment, National Development and Reform Commission, Peoples Republic of China, overcapacity has threatened closures of industries and hence unexpected rapid increase of unemployment which could fuel other negative developments.

Liberia Celebrates Menstrual Hygiene Day for the 1st Time

Each year May 28 is celebrated the World Over as Menstrual Hygiene Day. The Day was initiated by the German-based NGO WASH Unitedin 2014. The month of May was chosen because usually women have five days of periods and the date symbolizes the average duration of the monthly cycle. MenstrualHygiene Day is aimed at raising awareness among girls and women about their bodies, which undergo important changes during the onset of puberty and at different stages of their lives.
