Catch Ayanda Live in Joburg

JOHANNESBURG – Catch Ayanda Live as the idols songstress’ performs at her 2010 finale concert on Wednesday, December 22 at the Bassline in Newtown.
Experience some of the most recent songs and songs from her debut album, Music2Me (Umngoma). Also on the line-up are favourites from South Africa and the world. This festive show features some notable young talents including the King of the Bzwanyubz Tribe, King Dzorobzarabza.
Ayanda Nhlangoti, the grand-daughter to legendary South African Nokwe family, is also preparing for the launch in 2011, of her second album titled “Ivoti- A Vote of Confidence”. The multi-talented musician, has made a firm comeback to the live music circuits, and a number of “Ivoti” nationwide tours are set for early next year.
In a special tribute to fans attending the “AYANDA LIVE” concert at Bassline, the Durban-born diva says fans must brace-up for the latest from her forthcoming CD, which contains gem songs. This new album dedicated to Africa is a important tribute to her fans for their unending support to a career and a musical journey endured over the past few years.
Tracks in the new offering were composed and recorded as an overall effort to celebrate Pan-Africanism. Ivoti, the hot sizzling CD will be released early 2011.
Ayanda began singing at an early age while her mother Marilyn Nokwe of Mango Groove, her aunt Tu Nokwe of Shaka Zulu fame, and grandmother (family matriarch)- the legendary Patty Nokwe played a pivotal role in guiding her artistic development.
They guided and stirred the talent in her, as she launched her debut album, Music2Me-‘Umngoma’ through SonyBMG in 2007.
Her talent landed her main roles in several theatre productions such as; The New York’s Off-Broadway Dodgers Theatre, starring in: ‘Sleeping Beauty’ Pantomime, the British musical ‘Boogie Nights’, an interactive theatre spectacle ‘Drumstruck’ and a one-hander about her life ‘Ivoti’ which was launched in 2007 at the Catalina Theatre in KZN.
Ayanda’s strong sense of social consciousness was influenced by her family’s rich musical history inherited from her grandparents, Patty Masuku and Alfred Nokwe. Like her grandparents, she has committed to making a difference to other people’s lives through music.
Through her second album dedicated to mother Africa, Ayanda’s deepest yearn is to be her true self – A TRUE AFRICAN. Her music will soon be available on her website to purchase
