Zimbabwe: Perfect Works regroup ahead of international tours
By Shout-Africa Correspondent – GWERU based and outstanding dance ensemble has set course on rearranging ensemble’s dancing troop in a bid to weld a rebating bone, ahead of a regional tours.
The ensemble which hails from Midlands capital’s high populated suburbs of Mkoba, is currently rehearsing as preparation for the unusual tours set for South Arica, Botswana and other SADC region countries.
In an exclusive interview with the shout-africa.com, Perfect Works spokesperson said they will soon embark on regional tours a development that will see the group incorporating new talented dancers.
“While we prepare for our regional tour which is going to be soon new, youthful and skilled faces will be coming on board to join the group , our organization is scouting for talented artist who will beef up the current members. The reason for the us to incorporating new members is t, expand and has also be prompted by our need to allow the group to grow naturally, while on the other side some of our members are committed with other things.” said Leonard Tichareva.
The tour dates which are yet to be confirmed, will allow the arts company to continue with preparation that will enhance their stage skills. The Gweru based dancing troop in hoping to explore new markets and other alternative business market that will as well offer them to raise their credibility, create job and exposure.
Tichareva said, “We will use this tour as a marketing platform as we are hoping to generate employment, establish relations with other groups in the South Africa.”
Perfect Works which has been existence for at least 9years, clinched Gweru showbiz scene, as well as music and dancing circles’ in the late 2010 and early 2011, the dance company rose to prominence with their rare and unique self style approach of dramatizing music by such Zimbabwean legendary artist like as Paul Matavire, Marko Sibanda and also international selection from Tracey Chapman.
The group which received several commission offers from local companies to perform in private parties and public gatherings also had the honor to perform at Zimbabwe’s top and flamboyant business tycoon, Philip Chiyangwa’s business dinner in which was held Midlands Hotel sometime late 2010.
The ensemble was found in 2004 by Champagne Nyengera as a social confluence for Mkoba suburbs youths, as an interactive and platform that would act as a pediment for actors and musicians to launch their careers from. Today Nyingera’s legacy continue to grow as it has produced plays, hone artist and stage performances during high profile meetings in the province.
The currently Perfect Works comprises of Leonard Tichareva, Evidence Machira, Champaign Nyengera, Heather Mbizi, Eunis Jani and the Madzikura brothers Alois and Lloyd.
