“BATTERED” Premiere’s to international acclaim
Battered, a movie by Gambian Actress, Fatima Jabbe premiered to an international audience in London. The movie which premiered at the Odeon Cinema in London had an international audience which applauded the creativity that Fatima has brought to raising awareness on domestic violence.

Fatima, the producer of the movie arrived at the Odeon Cinema in Greenwich London on 28 September, in a blaze of glory. The actress who recently won the 2013 African Oscars’ Favourite Award Winning Female Actress, adorned a TB creation from USA and hair and make by Fanta’s Saloon in London.
The famous Gambian actress was swarmed by Photographers, fashion designers as she stepped the red carpet and it took the intervention of Odeon security, to proceed for the day’s event. However, in her usual humility, Fatima gave audience to the media and posed for photographs.
While being interviewed on the red carpet, fans of Fatima who got wind of her arrival trooped to catch a glimpse and share the limelight with her. Consequently, she was quickly ushered into screen 11, venue of the premiere by security operatives attached to Odeon Cinema.
Fatima was not done with her fans yet, she waited at the VIP stand to have personal interactions with fans. Subsequently, Fatima was introduced to the audience by the 2013 Nigerian UK Based Award Winning Best Male Actor Ikenna Obi.
Obi emphasised that Fatima is a passionate actress who has not allowed fame to take the better part of her humanity. She told the audience that Fatima is dedicated and committed to different non profitable charity organisations such as Gambia Meningitis Foundation, Women of Excellence, Face of the Gambia, The British Cancer Research Foundation and the John Utaka Foundation.
For her part, Fatima said the importance of the movie, BATTERED is dear to my heart Dear and dedicated the movie to all victims of Violence, especially ‘Domestic Violence’ from which she was inspired to write and produce the movie ‘BATTERED’.
Fatima thanked her fans, Friends, the Odeon management and the press, and emphasised that ‘BATTERED will be premiered on the 20th of December 2013 in her home country of The Gambia. – By Lucky Emeka
