Move your body at “analog (girl) in a digital world” after Bafana
Bafana play France on Tuesday.
While the German and South African teams are trying hard to move on to the next round, musicians of both countries are performing together on 22 June from 8pm above the city’s rooftops: at the Lister building’s private practice
For over a year, the two Berlin based Electro-DJs Teichmann Bothers have been working with the Kenyan MC LJ . MC LJ was born in Johannesburg and returns now to play at the Lister Building on 22 June 2010 . The party also features the Fong Kong Bantu Soundsystem (Ntone Edjabe (Chimurenga Magazine/Cape Town) and MC General Sbu from Johannesburg connects Africanjazz with dance beats and thereby creates smooth, often exciting grooves. Their counterparts, the Teichmann Brothers and MC LJ will heat up the atmosphere with their mix of hip hop and electronic beats.
The music is supported visually by the 26’10 South Architects, who put the direct environment of the urban structure surrounding the Lister Medical building in dialogue with its historic ancestor from times of gold-mining.
At Intermission Gallery, one floor below the top of the Lister Building, the photographic exhibition ?stad / city: to let/for sale, the rebirth of the prospector? by Alastair McLachlan will be on display.
Join other revellers over the roofs of the city. The event is free of charge.
