Ghana: Is Trey Songz really coming (Vodafone 020 Live Concert)?
By Peterking Quaye – After months of speculations, Vodafone Ghana has confirmed that US R&B superstar Trey Songz will perform at the second edition of the annual Vodafone 020 Live Concert scheduled for the Dome of the Accra International Conference Center on September 20.

A visit to the official website of the artist – http://www.treysongz.com, however does not have the date or the Ghana event on his tour dates. My search also revealed that the artist was last on stage in South Africa according to his website August 26th and 27th , 2011,The Coca-Cola Dome, Johannesburg And Reef – Gauteng. I hope it will not go the same way like the Rick Ross episode where he was to perform in South Africa but got Ghana as a ‘pass through ‘ and was convinced to mount the stage to perform.
Ghanaian deservers the best and as such, shows in Ghana need equal attention to reinstate Ghanaian confident in events, as the signs have been on the wall, even the press conference has been postponed several times before it finally came off. I am wondering what Vodafone is ready to put in for any lapses. I strongly present these revelations for all to insure that Vodafone will not play some recorded video of Trey Song on TV and Radio to make us all to think the show is coming off but go further to assure Ghanaian of the show and be ready to pay double the cost upon failure to deliver on their promise.
This can be said to be similar to a show in Ghana that of Adom Fm hype so much and only for concert goers to be told last minute to time that due to some arrangement and flight arrangement, the artist was not coming and the organizer had to rescheduled the show .
Trey Songz, who is currently in South Africa for a two-day concert will join an impressive line -up of pan-African artists to thrill music lovers in Ghana. Viewed as the concert which brings the best of talents both internationally and locally to Accra for an unforgettable night, 020 Live, from its record, promises a night of fun, entertainment and vivacity.
The show is confidently building on the success of last year’s concert which saw artists like P Square, J Martin and Ghana’s own Eazzy and Sarkodie among others hitting the stage. This year, Trey Songz will join colossal local acts – VIP, Five5, R2Bees, Stay Jay, D Cyme, RnM and multiple winner, D’Banj. With a slew of awards and chart-topping hits, these artists have been carefully selected to rock the stage showcasing their talent in performing live on stage. Fans and concert-goers are therefore guaranteed musical artistry at its finest at this Vodafone initiative.

The female trio have been working towards this concert ever since they emerged winners of the hugely success reality TV show and are determined to affirm their status as ICON Diva.
I would also like to draw to the attention of concert goers, be mindful of the fact that many event organizers have gone scout free for such lapses in their quest to host show but should hold Vodafone or who so ever they have put in place to organize this event for them. Attempt to speak to one of the artist booking agent, proved fatal but we will give more detail as the issue unfolds with the authenticity of this show.

Vodafone customers will have access to discounted standard tickets when they buy GHC 10 airtime or port to the network. Tickets will be available at the following Vodafone Retail shops: Accra Mall, Accra North, High Street, Cantonments, Dansoman and Tema. Tickets will also be available at the Silverbird Cinema, Airport Shell, Joy FM, Koala Shopping Centre and X Men. Standard tickets are on sale for GHC 50 and GHC 100 for VIP tickets.
