Late Nigerian pop star Susan Oluwabimpe Harvey laid to rest
By Correspondent Chinyere Ogbonna – The remains of the late Nigerian pop star Susan Oluwabimpe Harvey, nee Filani also known as Goldie Harvey has been laid to rest. The funeral ceremony took place at a private cemetery Vaults and Gardens in Ikoyi, Lagos, South-West Nigeria amidst tears.
The occasion was graced by the entire Kennis Music crew, members of the entertainment industry, her immediate family members (siblings and Briton husband) and friends.
Goldie Harvey’s burial service commenced at 10 am at the Vaults & Gardens funeral home in Ikoyi, Lagos Island, Nigeria with few family members and close associates in attendance.
The burial for the late Big Brother Africa star, Oluwabimpe Susan Harvey aka Goldie according to family sources had only friends and business partners invited. Her husband, Mr Andrew Harvey was also in attendance.
The late singer died on the night of February 14, 2013 after a long trip from the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles California, United States of America.
Before the trip to California, the energetic singer travelled to her husband in Malaysia where she spent the Christmas.
She eventually passed away before she was rushed to Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island, Lagos after complaining of headache.
She died in the arms of her best friend, Denrele Edun.
Goldie Harvey’s autopsy report released last week revealed she died of hypertension. She will be greatly missed by her fans and loved ones. May the Lord grant her soul eternal rest.
