Liberia: Singing for Mother Liberia – A B Swaray, tells his story
By Peterking Quaye – Liberia is not well known in the reggae music, and singing reggae has been a rare case, so far reggae musicians have found less comfort in Liberia in terms of music and popularity.
One upcoming Liberia reggae artiste whose music is set to catapult the image of reggae music is A B Swaray .he started his professional singing career serving as a backing vocalist with season and top Ivorian musicians in Ivory Coast. He went from strength to strength to record his own album.
His debut album is making waves in US in most of the densely populated Liberian community, after performing at a concert in the US. He studied Sound Engineering and understands the dynamics of the music industry. Born and raised in Bong Mines, the idea of his new album is based on the fact of the civil unrest situation in Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast and Liberia.
I caught him after a stunning performance at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium as part of the farewell match for one time Liberia’s best coach and George Weah football mentor, Coach Pam pem.
A B Swaray narrated his life story looking into the future with bright hope and promising to continue to singing to make mother Liberia proud.
