The Long awaited Miss Zim Diamond semi finals to take place in London
Miss Zim diamond has been on a year’s journey to find the rough diamonds who inherit the spirit of Zimbabwe. Miss Zim Diamond has toured various parts of the UK in search of different girls from different cultures, classes, races, tribes, but all have one thing in common, they are all passionate about flying the flag of Zimbabwe and promoting the beauty and talent that Zimbabwe has to offer.
The road shows have been to the South, Midlands and as far as North England and Scotland..
‘It has been an incredible journey with so much passion and amazing talent. All the girls that auditioned deserved a place in the semi final but we are limited because we need to identify a winner who will eventually be an ambassador for Zimbabwe in the UK.’ Said Glorianne Francis founder of Miss Zim Diamond.
Thirty girls have been selected to compete in the Semi Final from across the UK, who originate from various parts of Zimbabwe which include Harare, Bulawayo, Masvingo, Mutare, Bindura, Chipenge, Hwange and many more.
The red carpet event will be held on Saturday 6th of August 2011 at the plush Abbey Bar, 30-33 Minories, Aldgate, London EC3N 1DD where only 15 young ladies will be chosen to compete in the finals in September.
The emphasis of the Semi final will be for the girls to market various tourist destinations, resorts, and travel tools in Zimbabwe. There are many undiscovered tourist destinations in Zimbabwe that need to be exposed to the people in the Diaspora and what other way to do it than to Market the beauty of Zimbabwe with Beauty itself. The vision is for the girls to shine the spotlight on Zimbabwe, tell their stories to the world and inspire one another. The girls will all wear Classic Chic attire sponsored Adel Kaseke of Curvy Swan who recently launched her trade mark label and is currently selling her designs on ASOS.co.uk. They will also be an African design category sponsored by various talented Zimbabwean designers.
