Zimbabwe: Musician composes anthem for Hardbody

By Alfred Tembo – RISING urban sensational grooves artiste, Mugove Edwin Gwasunda has composed an exceptional anthem for Gweru side Hardbody Football club in an attempt to lure support for the feeble side that struggles to keep a float in the country’s top flight league.

Hardbody turned to be a smile for its supporters in Gweru early this season when it was promoted in the tightly contested high ranks of Zimbabwe’s best football team. The Premiership Soccer League (PSL), contender will delight at the track, a that has been logged in Muggoh G’s debut album that he said has been finished and is still waiting for the right time.

Inspired by the improvement of soccer in the province, Muggoh G said the song is a bonus track for Hardbody supporters across the country. He looks forward to cast a spell of motivation with high hopes that the spin contains all that the fragile side is desperate need for it to find the nets for the better part of the season in order to keep up with forces of its rival.

Speaking to shout-africa.com at the weekend, Muggoh G who contesting to curve a notch in the music industry through its rare view said there is need to support our local team than watching it buried into the drains of history without many of us making effort to bring thee live spirit into their camp.

“I find it very important to take a lead as an artiste and sing for my home team, and with their support of just affording me the chance to compose a tune for them means a lot for me and my future.

“This is one such a privilege l ought to make share with all the Midlanders,” confessed the youthful artiste who will capitalise on every possible chance at his disposal to launch his musical career.

The 22 year old Shurugwi born artiste worked with various local artists in solitude attempt to build a bridge that would lead him to success among these artists are the likes of Nasty Trix, Dj Tamuka, Asanti and Lexx Kay 45 a Kwekwe based music producer.

Taking his local role model as the famed Leonard Mapfumo, Gwasunda described his music as Urban Grooves with a fusion texture of Kwaito mixture.

“It’s not easy to put music in a specific category that captures all what am talking about instead will simply say my music is Urban Grooves with a fusion texture of Kwaito mixture that sought to put the rhythm of  the city alive.” he said.

Gwasunda who has at least seven singles which includes Rutendo, Ngatipemberere, Diaspora among other to his name said while he waits to put his band together he will be playing with an instrumental back track which he believes will keep his love for music alive.
