Africa: OFFSHORE WEST AFRICA 2012 AWARDS
Offshore West Africa has announced the inclusion of FOUR separate Awards that will be presented at the 2012 Offshore West Africa Conference & Exhibition.
Information on these Awards is below, and to generate NOMINATIONS, we are asking YOU to nominate who you feel best deserves these. Judging upon the nominations provided will be made by the readers of Offshore magazine – a monthly publication recognized as the worldwide leader for covering the key issues and trends relative to offshore technology, oil and gas E&P operations. It is the world’s most highly respected magazine dedicated entirely to the offshore industry, and enjoys the highest and most widely read circulation in its class.
Announcement of the winners will be made at the closing ceremony for the 2012 Conference & Exhibition. Winners and photographs of the winners will also be announced on the Offshore West Africa website, as well as within Offshore magazine.

The Offshore West Africa 2012 Academia Award is for individuals or institutions within Academia who have contributed to the offshore industry, by providing solutions, reports, case studies and technological advancements within West Africa.

Offshore West Africa 2012 Corporate Award
The company must demonstrate a unique or significant achievement in West Africa. Categories include, but are not limited too, services related to the design, construction, and installation of drilling and production facilities and equipment; project execution; leadership; community service; development of young professionals; resolution of challenges; and special consideration to health, safety, and environment.

Offshore West Africa 2012 Individual Award
A candidate must demonstrate a unique or significant achievement in West Africa. Categories include, but are not limited too, services related to the design, construction, and installation of drilling and production facilities and equipment; project execution; leadership; community service; development of young professionals; resolution of challenges; and special consideration to health, safety, and environment.

Offshore West Africa 2012 Technology Award
This award is judged against the below criteria and involves the below technologies:
Well Construction & Drilling Operations
Well design and construction, high temperature/high pressure drilling, drilling rigs, rotary steerable systems, managed pressure drilling, riserless drilling, seismic while drilling, sand control, extended reach drilling, BOPs and well control equipment, drilling risers, asset integrity, and MODU mooring and station-keeping.
Subsea Technology
Subsea separation, processing, and boosting; monitoring; flow assurance; intervention; trees; manifolds; templates; ROVs; enhanced oil recovery; asset integrity; and long-distance tiebacks.
Floating Production Systems
Floating production units design and construction; installation; topside equipment; processing; mooring and station-keeping; redeployment; asset integrity; operations; risers; and corrosion protection.
Flowlines & Pipelines
Design; installation; flow assurance; corrosion protection; monitoring; asset integrity; subsea welding; hot tapping; and repair.
To be considered for this award, the nominated technology must meet four key criteria:
- New and Innovative. This technology must be less than two years old. Age is designated from the date of its first offshore application in a full field development offshore West Africa.
- Proven. This technology must be proven for offshore application. New concepts, ideas, and early designs are not eligible. It must be sanctioned for use.
- Health, Safety, and Environment. This technology must meet local HSE requirements.
- Local Content. This technology must meet local content requirements.
