Offshore West Africa confirms Continual Professional Development program as part of 2015 Conference
16 December 2014; PennWell is delighted to announce the inclusion of a Continual Professional Development Program as part of Offshore West Africa 2015. Working in conjunction with The Energy Institute and Lonadek, the “Offshore West Africa CPD Conference supported by the Energy Institute”, is an exciting new addition which is designed for young and seasoned professionals who wish to grow and develop in competency and skills well suited to the Energy, Power and Hydrocarbon industries.

The Energy Institute is the leading Royal Charter professional membership body for the international energy industry, providing opportunities for career development, learning and networking. It is an empowerment programme for Young Professionals who wish to grow and develop in skills well suited to the Energy, Power and Hydrocarbon industries. The CPD points system will showcase participants’ achievements and competence relating to their area of work. Each participant plans to progress in their career by attending relevant training courses in order to ensure they meet professional standards throughout their working life. This system contributes towards the criteria required for achieving Professional recognition and Chartered status with the Energy Institute. As part of the CPD Program, all Offshore West Africa conference delegates will receive a complimentary affiliate membership to the Energy Institute, gaining all member benefits to aid professional development. The Energy Institute will also have a stand at Offshore West Africa, located by Event Registration at The Eko Hotel & Suites where attendees can become a member, or gain further information on the overall CPD program.
Under the agreed CPD program, for attending Offshore West Africa 2015, each participant that chooses to register with the Energy Institute as a Graduate member would obtain 2 points with a possibility of obtaining a further 8 points if they submit a 1500 word essay after the event. For each Affiliate member, 5 points will be awarded for attending Offshore West Africa 2015 where the delegate is able to prove that he/she attended at least five (5) technical sessions, and submits documented evidence by the end of the conference.
The 19th edition of the annual Offshore West Africa will take place “Under the Auspices of” the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and will continue to feature a technical and strategic conference program developed by an Advisory Board comprised of leading industry experts, as well as an exhibition showcasing products, technologies and services from global and regional oil & gas companies, held concurrently, bringing together exhibitors and attendees from around the world for three days of education, networking and new business development.
