South Africa: Cape Town Photojournalism Masterclass – January 3rd-8th 2011
By Novell Zwange – Gary Knight, founder of the international photo agency VII and lecturer in photography at Tufts University, USA, will be running a masterclass in photography and photo journalism in Capetown, January 3rd-8th 2011. This is specifically designed for resident South African or African photographers.
The 6 day workshop will be an intensive programme that pushes the individual beyond the comfort zone of their current boundaries, exploring new ways of looking at a subject and story. Participating photographers will photograph independently every day, discussing their progress and editing their work with Gary . It is this relationship that is integral to your experience at the workshop. You will be encouraged to explore the passion behind your photography to produce images that reflect your personal beliefs and view of the world.
Course fee: 9,000 ZAR
The course is non-residential. Students will provide their own accommodation and transport where necessary. The course fees include 2 group dinners and all teaching costs.
Gary is an internationally award winning photographer, founder of VII photo agency, Chairman of the World Press 2008, and current inspire scholar at Tufts University, Ma, USA.
