UK: Cake designer makes the awards shortlist
A wedding cake designer from Langley, Berkshire has been shortlisted in a national wedding awards scheme. Natasha Orange who runs Slice of Time is in the final ten cake designers in the Hitched.co.uk Breakthrough Awards.
Even at 14 years old, Natasha was baking cakes to sell or raffle at her grandmother’s bingo club in Harare, Zimbabwe – , so Slice of Time really represents a lifelong passion to demonstrate her creativity. Natasha began her career journey in marketing and communications and the storyboard skills she often used then help her work with brides on their dream cakes today.
The UK’s leading website, hitched.co.uk has launched the hitched Breakthrough Awards (HBAs) shortlist. The HBAs recognises talent in the wedding industry, including Cake Design.
50 people (ten in each category) have been shortlisted by expert judges in five categories including wedding cake design, wedding floristry, wedding stationery, wedding photography and wedding hair styling.
Natasha was one of the 10 finalists for the Cake Designer Award, out of hundreds of entries from all over the country with the editor of Wedding Cakes magazine, Jenny Royle selecting the ten finalists.
Natasha said: “I entered the HBAs because I knew, from my own wedding, that hitched was the UK’s most popular wedding website and if I had a chance of winning an award from them, this would give potential clients the reassurance that I was a recognised and respected business in the industry that they could trust.”
