UK: Zimbabwe Achievers Awards opens votes to public
VOTING has opened today for the second annual Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA), the show’s organizing academy has announced.
Following the successful shortlisting of nominations a fortnight ago, the ZAA awards committee is inviting the public from all over the world to take part in the decisive voting stage for their favourite Zimbabwean highflier in the past 12 months.
Conrad Mwanza, the ZAA director said: “We are inching one step closer to that exciting night. Voting has now opened on our website, zimachievers.com and we are encouraging everyone to vote once per nominee. The voting process is open to anyone who would like to cast their ballots for those nominated; this can be friends, fans, family members, colleagues, fellow peer group members – or anyone who feels that a specific nominee deserves recognition as a member of the elite Zimbabwe Achievers group for 2012.
“I’m always amazed at how much energy the Zimbabwean community displays on a daily basis. Our popular community-based awards program affords everyone the opportunity to applaud both the well-known and the unknown influencers of Zimbabwean heritage,” he added.
The ZAA awards cover a cross section of genres from Business, Sports, Entertainment, Media and Community categories. Nominees can be viewed at: zimachievers.com/view-nominees.
Voters will this year can log onto the simple and easy-to-use flexible multimedia-voting system built into the ZAA website: http://www.zimachievers.com/view-nominees.
In conjunction with chief sponsors and MoneyGram, as well as Grange hotels and Econet Wireless, the ZAA will be holding a live Gala Event on the 28th of April 2012 at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, London recognising about 30 Zimbabwean movers and shakers for their accomplishments.
