Ghana: ‘I am impotent ’ says Anas Aremeyaw Anas

Ghana’s Number One Investigative Journalist by all standard -Anas Aremeyaw Anas has revealed the horrifying ordeal he experienced at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital on the BE BOLD Talk Show on e.tv ghana. Anas said he became impotent during his stay at the Psychiatric Hospital as a result of drugs he had to take as an inmate.
In a hearty conversation with Christal Jeanne, the smart host of the show, he said it was a horrible ordeal considering the fact that he was not insane and was fully aware of the implications of swallowing those drugs and the kind of treatment being given to him.
Anas Aremeyaw Anas, the only journalist from Ghana who Barack Obama praised “a Ghanaian journalist with a paper called the New Crusading Guide, who worked undercover for eight months, risking his life, to expose a child trafficking ring. The evidence he amassed led to the prosecution of traffickers accused of sending Ghanaian girls to Europe for prostitution.On his first presidential trip to sub-Saharan Africa, President Obama boosted the Ghanaian investigative reporter profile. He went undercover to break stories about human trafficking, Obama cited the “courageous journalist” as an example of what democracies that respect a free press can produce.
Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has also been named among this year’s CNN/Multichoice African Journalists of the Year Awards finalists for 2009. Anas is the only Ghanaian among 25 finalists from 12 countries.
The courageous investigator spoke on how the inmates of the Hospital were being handled like ‘animals’. He said it was a pathetic sight and that he would not even wish such dehumanizing conditions and treatment for his enemies or the worst criminal. Anas is born to Anas Mahama and Madam Mariama Damba. His father doesn’t mind his adventurous son doing what he knows best – that is risking his life to investigate issues of national concern. His mother is, however, a bit apprehensive about unforeseen dangers, and whenever she has the opportunity, she offers some lap talk.
Anas said he will go to any lengths to reveal the rot and activities or practices crippling the development of the nation. He spoke fearlessly about his commitment to fighting corruption and crime. He also said he was aware of the certain several plots against him but is not perturbed because to him his duty is to bring the truth to light. He announced the revelation of more heinous crimes in the course of time. Anas shared his thoughts on so many other interesting issues and revealed very personal information about himself including his engagement to a beautiful young woman.
