The Congress urged Nigerians to ignore such reports, remain focused and committed to the mass action planned for Monday.
The statement also denounces reports from some quarters that the protest was funded by oil marketers.

They include the Nigeria Labour Congress, the Trade union Congress, the Nigerian Bar Association, the three Unions in the aviation sector, the road transport union, youths and the civil society group.
NLC had declared to go on mass protest following the Federal Government’s announcement on the first of January that it has withdrawn fuel subsidy.
