Liberia: Several Liberian students at KCC to miss WAEC exams

By Own Correspondent with support from thenewdawn – Several students of the Kakata Community College (KCC) will not sit this year West African Examinations Council’s (WAEC) exams slated for 8 May.

Anthony Mulbah Jallah, KCC’s Principal told this paper that the 26 failed to register on time despite the deadline given by WAEC for the registration. Jallah said the rest were students who failed to attend school regularly, and were not prepared for the test, though they were not registered.“Students sent by their school for public exams were direct representatives of such school. They could either boost that school’s morale or destroy it, so we are not going to send junk-heads to represent our institution,” Jallah declared.

The KCC Principal stated that he was receiving positive signals from parents of  students who were not performing satisfactorily to the administration’s expectations.

“Those who did not register on the time given by WAEC will have themselves to blame. The school cannot perform any miracle to help them, because that was above the school’s jurisdiction,” he noted.

He pointed out that those who have registered, but were not performing well will have to go through  another “Intensive Academic Program” or else, the possibility of writing the exams will be very slim.
