Nigeria: APGA Governorship Candidate arrested over election offence
By CHINYERE Ogbonna -The Police Command in Zamfara State has arrested the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi over an alleged snatching of ballot boxes at Shadengara 004 polling unit in Shinkafi Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the arrest to journalists, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Femi Ogunbayode said that the APGA Candidate, who is also the National Secretary of APGA, personally supervised some thugs to hijack the ballot boxes from INEC presiding officers with the aim of manipulating the election results in his favour.
He also said that the suspects are currently in police custody and would be charged to court for election offence after investigations have been concluded.
