Nonsi Misses The Coveted Miss Africa Title By A Whisker
By Novell Zwangendaba –Zimbabwe’s very own beauty model, the USA-based, Nonsi Sibanda reached the Miss Africa semi-finals in high spirits but unfortunatly did not collect the highly coveted title.
The pageant is one of the biggest and the most publicized pageant that features African Queens in USA. It grooms a new generation of African women leaders to impact their communities in Africa, America and the rest of the world.
“It was an honor to represent Zimbabwe at the Miss Africa pageant this past weekend but unfortunately we did not win. I have changed the group name to LIFT because that is my charity organization and that is what I was in the pageant to promote,” said the 19-year-old second year Business Administration student.
“I am proud to announce the achievements that I have made as well as what I am working on now.”
Nonsi announced her future plans after the Miss Africa, ” I will be taking part in a fashion show on the 28th of August.I am the first MISS SOUTHERN AFRICA USA and I will be going to Windhoek Namibia on the 27th of November to fight for the actual title of Miss Southern Africa.”
“I will be working with some of my fellow Miss Africa USA contestants such as Miss Namibia and we are planning a few charity events in the future. -I got 2 sponsors that would like to work with me to promote charity organisation LIFT, and I will also be starting my own magazine LIFT which I will use to promote my organization as well as other organisations that I will work with.”
Nonsi ia also the Goodwill ambassador of YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROJECT and she said she will also be adding more clothing to her online shop. “I will not only be selling LIFT t-shirts but also fashionable clothes eg handbags, shoes etc.”
