Sierra Leone: Salone Army, Police in a joint training in Sierra Leone
By Bai Bai Sesay – The Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) and the Sierra Leone Police will be holding an ongoing Joint Training to enhance cooperation and collaboration between them as well as other security agencies and to also improve on their professionalism in delivering security for the state and its people, according to a public notice issued over the weekend.
3,110 personnel of the two primary forces have already been trained in the Western Area and 560 in Lungi. The next leg of Joint Training will take place in Kenema for the Eastern Province from 23rd -26th November, Bo for the South from 29th November to 2nd December and Makeni for the Northern Province from 14th-17th December 2010.
During the periods mentioned, the public is expected to see movement of troops from some locations in the country to the training centers. The office of the national security assured Sierra Leoneans that these movements will be normal and should not raise any cause for alarm adding that the general public are fully assured of their safety and security at all times.
