STRESSED BODY LEADS TO REJECTION OF BODY, WISHFUL THINKING AND FANTASY

Click here for Part 1 , Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 Part 5, Part 6 , Part 7 – By Ozodi Thomas Osuji – When the individual’s body is stressed by the exigencies of living his mind immediately engages in wishful thinking, seeking a better body; thus, he engages in fantasy, aka magical thinking. Fantasy is inevitable for those whose bodies are stressed. All they can do is understand why they seek ideals and perfection, that is, seek fantasy and escape from reality; it is because reality is too painful to be accepted. The study of science; that is, the study of things as they are not as we want them to be, in this case the study of physiology and psychology, is the solution for those who over utilize fantasy ego defense. They have to redirect their minds to the real and quit seeking the ideal and unreal.
CONCLUSION
There is more to our existence than scientists know (as Shakespeare’s Polonius told his son, Horatio: there is more to life than is taught in our philosophy/science). Western science is doing an excellent job explicating the nature of physical reality. Someone had to do that job and we applaud Western scientists for doing it. I raise my hat for Western scientists for refusing to be sidetracked by superstitious religion and keep at it until they elucidate how the physical world works. Let them keep doing so for our good. But there is another side to reality, a side that the methodology of science cannot explicate.
Spirit is real. However, the reality of spirit does not mean that folks should abandon studying science. Each of us must have, at least, a bachelor’s level knowledge of the physical sciences. Having done so, we must also acknowledge the existence of something more than matter, space and time.
Spirit asks that those who want to know it to become humble and not be arrogant in believing that the illusion called the separated ego self is real.
It is not my intention to dwell on the subject of spirit in this paper. The only useful point to be made about it is that as we enter an age where science interfaces with spirit western science is not equipped to lead that discourse. Africans and black folks are better equipped to lead that discourse. We are entering an age where civilization is going to pass into the hands of Africans. It is for this reason that they were literally abused by the other races. It is for the performance of this final function, leading mankind back to where they came from, unified spirit self, that Africans had to be abused by other races, for to understand spirit one cannot be proud and arrogant as narcissistic Westerners are. Those whose humanity were attacked and reduced to nothingness so that they could not feel pride in their egos and bodies are best equipped to understand spiritual matters. The reduction of Africans to nothingness has humbled them hence made them more amenable to understanding spiritual matters. Of course members of other races can also understand spiritual matters for they too are part of spirit and can understand their nature if they so wish…provided that they put aside their pride, for pride is an obstacle to understanding spirit.
There is more to reality than arrogant Western scientists tell us. Indeed, the reality that they tell us about, as quantum mechanics says, is actually a reality we constructed. We individually and collectively constructed our present understanding of reality. What we construct we can deconstruct and reconstruct. Human beings will eventually reinvent their world; they will ultimately love one another and at that point become aware that they are all part of unified spirit self.
Black folks were subjected to incredible abuse and suffering so that they give up their false pride and become humble. As only the humble know God, who is love, humble black folk will lead mankind to love, to God. The new phase of human civilization, the return to love, to union is going to be led by black folks. But make sure that you know who black folks are for race is not determined by color. Black folks are all of us, are all human beings for all human beings began in Africa and are Africans. An African is any human being who understands that our true self is a loving self and makes a conscious decision to love his self and all selves in the world.
