Gambia: President Jammeh Appoints New Secretary General & Head of Civil Services
By Gambia Correspondent – A news release from the Office of the President yesterday revealed that President Yahya Jammeh has appointed Mr Ousman Jammeh, former minister of Foreign Affairs, International Relations and Gambians Abroad as the new Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service.
Ousman Jammeh, who once served as Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service from April 2007 to March 2008, when he was appointed minister of Petroleum and Energy, replaces Mr Ebrima O. Camara, who according to the release has now been deployed to the Gambian embassy in Belgium as deputy head of mission.
From September 2009 to June 2010, Ousman Jammeh served as minister of Foreign Affairs, International Relations and Gambians Abroad.
He was then reassigned as minister of Energy, a position he held very briefly before he was relieved of his cabinet appointment.
