Sierra Leone: NCD present reports as Indian High Commission bids farewell to President Koroma
The National Commission for Democracy (NCD) has on Monday 4th March 2013 presented its annual reports for the years-2010,2011 and 2012 to President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma at State House. Speaking before he received of the Reports, President Koroma expressed delight for the commission’s move to address the backlogged saying that the document will soon be tabled before the House of Parliament as the role of the NCD is the democratic dispensation is very important.
He said the commission has been given high profile through the civic education that the NCD provided during last November elections, adding that the job done will further motivate staff of the commission to do more work.
President Koroma disclosed that works will soon start on the review of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone, which according to him will be followed by a national debate wherein every citizenry will be opportune to participate, so that the necessary areas of modification will be addressed.
He acknowledged challenges faced by the commission pointing out that it is a great responsibility that is ahead.
Earlier, Chairman of the NCD Dr Abubakarr Kamara informed President Koroma – By State House Communications Unit
