Ghana: Young Liberian wins MTN-Soccer Academy West Africa Reality Show
By Peterking Quaye, from Accra, Ghana – If Liberia’s quest to have a formidable youth team has been dashed, then there is hope for the future ,as well as bright players to fit in the boots of the old one. One of such is young Kesselly Zulu. Kesselly Zulu (Liberia), is one of the many young Liberian footballers coming up in Ghana, he recently joined the MNT-Soccer Academy West Africa. He was part of The finalists of the MTN Soccer Academy season 4 West Africa Reality Show.
Many Liberians in Ghana see him as a true ambassador and who has represented Liberia well in Ghana and in West Africa through the soccer reality show-as they pay visit to the Liberian Embassy in Ghana .The winner of the competition as part of their will, will have trails with South African side Super Sport United .
Before leaving ,l caught up with one coach who have followed Zulu in Ghana as he does not play at the Bdumburam camp but is based in Winneba where he has a huge and admirable fan base ,as well many Liberian who know and voted for him during the show. He had the view that the player is good and is among the numerous young players for Liberia .l have also followed him before the show and during the show where displayed many qualities of a good footballer. He is one of the bright future stars for Liberia .
First it was GHANA, and it went to NIGERIA…this year, the season 4 of MTN Soccer Academy is going to WEST AFRICA. West Africa awaits its NEW SOCCER DISCOVERY. The show started with initially 5 Ghanaians joined by 9 other West African nationals in one house for 85 days, live on TV. The rest is explosive Soccer action, fun, drama and entertainment.
The quartet from Ghana arrived safely in South Africa last week to begin a two-week trials with Super sport, South Africa Premier League side, a release signed by the CEO of Optimum Media Prime (OMP), organizers of the show Mr. Fadi Fattal has stated.
And indications are that the players -Ahmed Awal, the ultimate winner (Ghana), Mohammed Lawal (Nigeria), Kesselly Zulu (Liberia) and Benjamin Baah (Ghana) has already started training today, at the team’s training grounds at Groenkloof in South Africa .
After a shake up exercise in the afternoon yesterday , the quartet are expected to watch the Mamelodi Sundowns versus Kaizer Chiefs game at Loftus, to be accompanied by Sipho Mabuza, a Supersport official tomorrow, till they wrap up the exercise on May 14.
A tentative training programme has been rolled out, which will see the players train in the morning from 8am to 10am and then from 3pm to 5pm in the evening, and it would be interspersed by some matches.
The South African league has just ended, and according to Mr. Fattal, the trip demonstrates his outfit’s commitment to support the development of football and to fulfill their promise to the contestants.
Liberia should pray for him to get entry in the team.
