Redundancy hits Liberia FA as are 15 sacked
By Peterking Quaye – In the quest to savage an administration that will probably bring effectiveness and efficiency, The Liberia Football Association has had to reduce it’s staff.
The Liberian FA has come under serve criticism from sections of the football fans and across sections of stakeholders for poor administration.
On Tuesday, January 31, 2012 the Liberia Football Association (LFA) dismissed in all 15 employees.
The affected employees include 10 staffers from the Secretariat, who were assigned at the LFA headquarters, located on Benson Street and five security personnel, assigned at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) on UN Drive. All of the five dismissed security personnel worked for the LFA for more than 11 years, while the remaining sacked employees were employed the by the LFA between two to seven years.
The reshuffling is said to have come from redundancy as well as to get rid of over crowdedness on the pay-roll with some affected workers have expressed their dissatisfaction.
This is gradually become part of many institutions that the LFA Boss is part of ,not too long ago, Musa Bility’s Renaissance Communication Incorporated (RCI), 14 employees including journalists were laid off for unclear reasons but many says it was due to administrative reasons.
Reports also gathered that the LFA boss had refused to let-go the second badge of employees owing to reasons best known to him.
The expected affected employees are Prince Forfor and Roland Deshield, Musa Bility’s Chief of Office Staff and Office Attendant as well as Aletha Massaquoi, Account Clerk.
Others are Yudu Miller, Special Assistant to Vice President for Administration Musa Shannon; Anthony Gbor, Special Assistant to Vice President for Operation Adolph Lawrence and a female receptionist.
“We were not born to work for the LFA, so we cannot force ourselves to work for the LFA, all we want is our back pay and civil servants benefits…or else there will be a resistant,” the sack employees said.
