“Thank you to all supporters and the media” says BYC President
Peterking Quaye/Monrovia-Liberia: President of Barack Young Controllers, Hon. Sekou Konneh has expressed his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Liberia sports lovers and supporter who turned out in huge numbers for the ATS on Lynch street to see to it that Ghana’s historic team crush out of the competition. He was speaking at the BYC Football Meet-the-Press event, held today February 18, 2014.
Speaking at the Meet-the–Press event hosted by BYC Football at the Liberia FA Headquarter on Benson Street, in Monrovia, Hon. Konneh, could not hide his joy of the victory but to appreciate all Liberia who turned out from all corners of the capital and across the country to show their support to the club “We at BYC say thank you to all the supports and the media ,for the role play in this historic defeat “we will continue to encourage the media to do more so the world can know that Liberia football is getting somewhere “, he added.
In attendance at event was the VP of the Liberia FA ,who was acting as President due to the absence of the Liberia FA President, Minister of Youth and Sports , BYC Football Coach Robert Lartey and the other BYC Football official. In total, 40 media personnel from radio, TV, online and print were present to cover the event.
Issues at the press event were mainly on how the team prepares to face their next opponent Sewe Sports of Ivory Coast, sponsorship received so far by the club, and their mid-week local derby with one time powerhouse of Liberian football LPRC Oliers as well issue of when the next match will be played since both Liberian representative in the competition.
Meanwhile support and surprise packages continue to troop in to the team, with bigger package expected to come soon. BYC is also expected to return to camp on Wednesday to start preparation for their next crucial encounter with Ivorian Champions Sewe Sport in few from now.
