Uganda: Sekagya Is Uganda’s Most Expensive Player

By Katongole Kiwanuka – Austria based professional, Ibrahim Sekagya is Uganda’s most expensive player at the moment with a market value tag of €2.2m (Shs7,492,720,350) according to agencies which monitors players’ current monetary values.

Sekagya, 30, has played with a host of clubs in Argentina before settling in Europe with Red Bull Salzburg. Sekagya is followed by left fullback Nestroy Kizito of Partizan Belgrade with a distant €0.66m (Shs2,247,816,100) money tag.

Scotland based winger David Obua who plays with Hearts of Midlothian is tagged at €0.48m (1,634,775,350) among the eleven highly sought after Ugandan internationals.

The other players are Hassan Mawanda Wasswa of Turkey’s Altay Izmir (€0.44m), US based Brian Umony with Portland Timbers (€0.2m), Mpumalanga Black Aces’ goalkeeper Dennis Masinde Onyango (€0.18m), striking duo of Geoffrey Sserunkuuma of Bidvest University FC and Eugene Sseppuya (€0.15m), Mike Serumaga (€0.1m), Egypt based Geoffrey Massa with Etisalat (€0.08m) and Tonny Mawejje with IBV (€0.02m).
