Gambia: 20 years for Army, Navy Chiefs over Treason Charges

By Gambia Correspondent – The former chief of defense staff Lt General Lang Tombong Tamba and former chief of naval staff rear Admiral Sarjo Fofana were yesterday convicted for treason and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. The former senior security chiefs were found guilty on four counts of treasonable indictments in connection with the 21st March 2006 abortive coup, alleged to have been masterminded by the former chief of defence staff, Colonel Ndure Cham. Senegalese PM meets with President Jammeh

Gambia: Five Anti Narcotic Agents Faces murder Charges

By Gambian Correspondent – The Banjul Magistrates’ Court yesterday transferred the alleged murder case involving five officers of the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA) to the Special Criminal Court of the High Court in Banjul. The trial magistrate further ordered the accused persons to be kept at the Mile 2 Central Prison pending their arraignment at the Special Criminal Court.
