Gambia: US Embassy Banjul announced minor changes in visa processing

By Gambia Correspondent – The Consular Section of the United States diplomatic mission in The Gambia has announced some minor changes in its visa procedures at the US Embassy in Banjul. The changes, due to take effect from 1st March 2011, will include new fees payment and appointment procedures for applicants for US visas. Beginning 1st March 2011, the US Embassy announced, the visa fee can be paid at any ECOBANK or Reliance Bank branch as fee payment will no longer be accepted at Standard Chartered Bank. Johnson Richards. Gambia: Man reportedly commits suicide

By Shout-Africa Correspondent – Information reaching The Point newspaper had it that the body of one Malang Mendy, believed to be in his 70s and a resident of Busumbala village in the West Coast Region, was last Saturday found hanging from a cashew tree in the village. Confirming the incident, the newly-appointed police public relations officer, Superintendent Mballow, said the body of the deceased was discovered by the villagers. Gambia: ‘Tamba, Fofana have a case to answer’

General Lang Tombong Tamba and Rear Admiral Sajor Fofana, have a case to answer.
