The Liberian Leader, President George M. Weah has officially launched his first Sanitation Campaign in the nation's capital, Monrovia.
The Urban Sanitation Campaign named the "Weah for Clean City" Initiative, is intended to keep Monrovia clean as part of the new government 100-day deliverables.
President Weah under his Pro-Poor Agenda has launched several other initiatives, but says the latest Sanitation Campaign is geared toward helping community residents appreciate the need to keep their surroundings clean.

The Liberian government must prioritise clean water, decent sanitation and good hygiene for people across the country, if Goal 6 – the provision of clean water and decent sanitation for everyone everywhere – is to be reached by 2030, in Liberia.
WaterAid Liberia is urging the government to act ahead of the UN’s High Level Political Forum in New York in July, where Goal 6 will come under review.
Without water, decent sanitation and good hygiene, other Sustainable Development Goals, including those on gender equality, education, health, reducing inequalities and nutrition, cannot be achieved.

The Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Reporters and Editors Network of Liberia (WASH R&E) has ended a WASH assessment visit to Tewor and Gola Konneh Districts in Grand Cape Mount County. The visit was aimed at getting an insight of the rural WASH project and its impact on beneficiaries.
The WASH project is implemented by the Community Development Services (CODES) with supported from WaterAid in Liberia, through Irish Aid funding.
It is intended to create an enabling WASH environment for rural communities in the county.

The Lutheran Development Service (LDS) in Liberia has concluded a workshop on its next five-year strategic plan of action.
The 5-year strategic plan workshop was aimed at reviewing its past activities, challenges and successes.
