The Evangelical Congressional Church of Liberia has ended a week long annual conference in Tumanburg, Bomi County.
The gathering brought together member churches and international guests from the United States of America, including Rev. Randy Sizemore, Director of Global Ministries – E.C. Church-USA/of the World, Rev Rick Seigi of the Bethlehem E.C. Church in the US and some pastors from Ghana.
Issues pertaining to the upliftment of the church in Liberia were discussed over the one week period with decisions reached by delegates.

Constructed in the 50s and 60s, an off-site piped sewerage system covering an area of approximately 27 square kilometers in central Monrovia, Sinkor, Old Road and Bushrod Island (New Kru Town, Logan Town, Clara Town) was constructed to meet the sewage need of Monrovia.Less than 20% of the Greater Monrovia urban area for a protracted period has been used as the only medium to transport feces and waste water to its final destination to the Fiamah Sewage Treatment Plant in Sinkor.

WASH in schools or Wins Initiative launched by the Liberian government and partners is yielding tangible results across the country. Several international and local partners have embarked on the Initiative of government to ensure that Liberian students get improved WASH facilities at their respective learning institutions.

Liberia as a nation is still grappling with issues and the challenges faced by ordinary Liberians who do not have toilets in their various homes. According to statistics, only about 17 % of Liberians have toilets at their homes.
In a bid to ascertain various conditions at Public Latrines in greater Monrovia and its surroundings, WASH Reporters & Editors Network of Liberia embarked on an assessment of public toilets and the challenges care takers encounter on a daily basis.

Some twenty-five schools in Margibi County have benefited from modern toilet facilities constructed by Living Water International.
The facilities were turned over to the schools Monday at a program marking the official celebration of World Toilet Day in that part of Liberia which was observed under the Theme “Waste Water”.
Speaking in Weala, Margibi County during the indoor program which followed the official dedication of the facilities, the Country Director of Living Water International, Austin Nyaplue indicated that his organization with support from international partners saw the need to provide Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) facilities at those institutions.
